Pointe West is a 1,200-acre master planned, second home community located at the southwest end of Galveston Island. Pointe West consists of single family developments, multifamily developments, outdoor pavilions, the Beach Club, kayak launch, fishing pier, a bonfire pit, a bbq park, numerous community pocket parks, a $30 million marina and yacht club, 200-boat dryboat storage, lazy river and sunset beach pool club complex, kayak trail, and over 10 miles of trails that wind throughout the project. Of the 1,200 acres, almost 900 acres will remain undeveloped as a nature preserve. An extensive program of nature-friendly activities were developed that included interpretive signage, a birding trail, overlooks, a boardwalk, wildlife blinds and kayak trails.
