Walk for a Day Regional Trail System
Austin, Texas

This regional trail system will provide connectivity between numerous greenbelt trails in and around Austin. Designed to connect Zilker Park to existing trails, this 37-mile trail was also extended down to FM 150. Bury coordinated with a variety of stakeholders including Travis and Hays counties, the cities of Austin and Sunset Valley and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Bury also worked with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Texas Parks and Wildlife, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and TxDOT to obtain permits for the project. In addition to numerous environmental challenges, coordination between multiple agencies and heavy public involvement added to the complexity of the project.
