The Austin Children's Museum consists of an approximately 40,000sf two-story building with 3,000sf of dedicated outdoor exhibit and courtyard space. The building systems are designed to provide the learning/educational aspect of the museum experience by demonstrating the inner working components of the building. The building is designed to achieve LEED Gold certification and incorporates energy efficient design such as external building shading devices, occupancy controlled terminal units, demand controlled ventilation system, exhaust to supply air energy recovery and high efficiency (low flow) plumbing.
