Texas A&M Reproductive Sciences Complex
College Station, Texas

The Reproductive Science Complex is a multi-building complex that is used for animal research pertaining to endocrinology and animal reproduction. The two largest buildings are the main administration and classroom/conference facility and the laboratory facility which are connected with an enclosed conditioned corridor. Each building is approximately 3,500sf. The laboratory building includes functions for semen processing, blood and antiserum storage and handling, semen and embryo freezing, sterile preparation and supplies and associated support spaces. The project scope included a completely new HVAC system for the laboratory facility in compliance with NIH and USDA research facility guidelines. The new HVAC system is a single-pass, 100% outside air, variable air volume (VAV) air handling system with associated exhaust fans. The laboratory building is also negatively pressurized in relation to the connecting corridor to prevent air movement through the corridor to the administration building.
