South Hulen/Oakbend Trail Signal
Forth Worth, Texas

South Hulen Street is a major north/south arterial that experiences very high volumes during peak hour times throughout the corridor. A private developer proposed to develop a site located at the northeast corner of South Hulen Street and Oakbend Trail, which was a three-legged intersection. Oakbend Trail is a minor collector that provides access to multi-family developments and is stopped controlled at the intersection while South Hulen Street allows for uninterrupted traffic flow through the intersection. Working with the City of Fort Worth and the private developer, Bury performed a Signal Warrant Analysis and determined that a traffic signal was warranted based upon the forecasted conditions, with or without the addition of the proposed development. The traffic signal was in the best interest of the City as well as the private developer; therefore, the two worked together to develop the traffic signal.
