I hope my note finds your new year off to a fast start. How refreshing it is to see the light and the optimism associated with an economy that is moving again.
Consistent with our recent strategic positioning of business lines (civil, mechanical, electrical, water resources, traffic, transportation, landscape architecture, project management and planning) in each of our Texas markets for greater client access, a key member of our firm's leadership team will be relocating to our Dallas office. Jim Knight, Chief Development Officer and a key leader in the growth of our Austin operations over the last 20 years, will be relocating to Dallas to serve as Executive Vice President effective February 20, 2012. Mac McWilliams, who has effectively managed our Dallas operation since 2005, will remain a key member of our leadership team in Dallas with a specific focus on our land development clients in the North Texas area.
I am excited about this move and what it will bring to our growth plans for our Firm. Our firm is seeing strong growth across Texas with our Dallas area clients forecasting tremendous growth. Jim has had great success helping grow the Firm (and opening our Dallas and San Antonio offices) and has significant relationships with many of our clients in the North Texas region. Jim will be focused on ensuring our business operations in the North Texas area are scaling appropriately to meet the needs of our valued clients.
Mac McWilliams will lead our North Texas land development practice with a focus on multi-family, retail, residential, office and mixed use development projects. Mac is highly respected in the Dallas area and this dedicated focus will provide our clients greater access to his vast knowledge on the unique challenges facing them.
