New Executive Team Leading Bury+Partners' Houston Operation

To all Bury Clients and Friends of the Firm,

Good news continues to flow at Bury+Partners.  As 2011 has offered some bright spots in the economic recovery, our team of over 225 design professionals remain actively engaged on client projects throughout Texas.

Bury+Partners is celebrating its 27th year of providing sophisticated design services to the public and private sectors. Our clients have access to a full cadre of A/E/C services including civil engineering, M/E/P, landscape architecture, traffic/transportation engineering, construction administration, survey, and water/wastewater engineering.  Our one source approach to meeting the complex needs of our clients brings greater efficiencies, design collaboration, and fewer downstream vendors to manage on any given project. 

Our firm's project portfolio spans all of the major market sectors including Commercial/Industrial, City/County/State and Federal Government, Healthcare, K-12 Education, Higher Education, Hospitality, Infrastructure, Land Development, Master Planned Communities, Mixed-Use, Office, Residential and Retail. 

 

On behalf of my partners here at the Firm, I am pleased to introduce you to our new executive team leading the Bury+Partners Houston operation.  Steve Eklund was appointed Managing Principal effective June 13, 2011.  Steve brings a solid leadership background to our Houston office after serving 12 years as Principal in Bury's San Antonio office.  Additionally, Jason Atkinson has joined Bury+Partners as Senior Vice President after many years leading his family's engineering business. 

Mr. Eklund brings to our Houston office the critical "management DNA" that has made our San Antonio operation so successful.  He has led design teams on projects in the municipal sector as well as land development in the office/commercial, retail, multi-family and higher education sectors. 

Mr. Eklund received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio where he recently served as President of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department Advisory Board.  Mr. Eklund will continue to serve on the Bury+Partners Executive Committee.

Mr. Atkinson has a deep knowledge of the residential development, site civil and infrastructure requirements in and around the Houston metro area.  He has extensive experience working with the City of Houston and Harris County on residential, industrial, and retail site requirements.  Additionally, Mr. Atkinson has designed roadways in Harris and Montgomery counties.

Mr. Atkinson received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Master of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University.  Mr. Atkinson is actively involved in the Living Water organization that is charged with water system development in third world countries.  He and his family live in Cypress, Texas. 

I am immensely proud of the good work our Houston operation is doing for our clients.  With the addition of the exceptional leadership backgrounds Steve Eklund and Jason Atkinson bring to our team and clients alike, it will be exciting to watch the future of this office.
