Managing Principals

Jim Knight is a recognized leader in both the public and private sectors for his ability to manage diverse teams of design consultants on complex, large-scale projects. He has extensive experience with project development, due diligence planning, project management, hydraulics, hydrology, utility design and regulatory compliance.

Mr. Knight also has a broad range of experience working in restrictive areas and with environmentally sensitive projects that involve water quality issues as well as endangered species and aquifer recharge. Mr. Knight has worked widely with environmental groups, concerned citizens, municipal staff, environmental boards, state commissions and city councils.

Larry Heimer is responsible for the management of all San Antonio operations, including the direction of project teams engaged in the design and preparation of construction plans and specifications for municipal and land development projects.

He has over 30 years of experience specializing in the design and management of public infrastructure projects in San Antonio and the South Central Texas area. His experience includes the design and design management of streets, stormsewers, drainage channels, detention and water quality facilities, water distribution, pumping and storage facilities, wastewater collection, treatment and pump stations, and floodplain studies.

Steve Eklund is responsible for the management and direction of project teams engaged in the design and preparation of construction plans and specifications for municipal and land development. He has over 19 years of experience in San Antonio and throughout Texas. Mr. Eklund brings to our Houston office the critical "management DNA" that has made our San Antonio operation so successful.

He has led design teams on projects in the municipal sector as well as land development in the office/commercial, retail, multi-family and higher education sectors. Eklund received his Bachelors of Science in Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio where he recently served as President of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department Advisory Board. Mr. Eklund will continue to serve on the Bury+Partners Executive Committee.
